Other high performance variants of the model will be powered by a standard DOHC 3.6L, V6 cylinder engine that has a total power output of 302HP & torque output of 270lbft. Another interesting feature about Chevy Colorado is that it offers a four piston caliper disk brake which is also present its rival – Chevy Silverado. A standard 200 – 240HP turbo charged diesel variant is also being considered as a viable option for most Chevy Colorado models.

The engine in 2016 Chevy Colorado has been paired with a 6 speed automatic power transmission system. Further, it has a primary Two Wheel Drive system but it also offers a Four Wheel Driving platform. Major interior changes include an extended cab design along with damped tail gates. It has a 4 door crew cab configuration and is available in the following three trims – Z71, LT and Work Model respectively.

According to industry insiders, Toyota Tacoma’s sales have risen by 12% in the last few months, reporting total annual sales of about 14,284 units in the previous financial year. On the other hand, Chevy Colorado has sold only over 4,037 trucks in the previous financial year and it is yet to add any significant result into GMC’s favor. However, with 3rd generation Chevy Colorado, the company is hoping to expand its rapidly decreasing market in an outside the United States.
