The 2016 Honda Accord is an upcoming vehicle that will boast of having more power, more comfort and increased performance than its predecessor. This is the ninth generation of the very popular series, and while the car is still under production, we can speculate some features that the car would possess. Honda has decided to not go for a complete revamp, but with a significant facelift for the upcoming 2016 Honda Accord model year. It should be offered in two body types, namely coupe and sedan. Trim options are vast as coupe variant of the vehicle comes with four trims while the sedan has four to choose from.
2016 Honda Accord: Redesign Exterior and Interior
Exterior visuals of 2016 Honda Accord will sport several improvements over its predecessor, including a new style for the front end that has been borrowed from Acura RLX. The engineers have paid special attention to improving the aerodynamics of this vehicle and as a side-effect the car has gotten sleeker in shape and also more stable in handling. The new design is instantly noticeable with the grille that is made of metal and LED lights in front of this vehicle. If that was not enough, Honda has also promised several optional colour upgrades in the future.
Interior of 2016 Honda Accord is set to become more comfortable with Active Noise Control technology. As the name suggests, this technology will reduce noise reaching inside of the car, thus allowing for a more comfortable stay. There will also be redesigned seats made of high-quality materials along with increased legroom for both passengers and the driver.
Tech upgrades include a touch screen display at the centre of the dashboard, which will provide the driver with all the information he needs. We also expect it to host other features such as Bluetooth, rear camera, automatic climate control system, temperature controllable seats along with Honda’s high-end Pandora Audio system. So from now, just don’t only ride. Ride with style.
2016 Honda Accord: Engine and Fuel Economy
2016 Honda Accord will be offered with various engine options depending on trim models. We also expect a hybrid variant to show up in later parts of its release. Under the hood of its base model, there will be a 2.3 litre inline-4 engine that produces a horsepower of 185 and torque of 181 lb-ft. The higher Sports variant should be powered with the same engine, but with a higher output of 189 hp and 182 lb-ft of torque. Both these trims are to be mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, with the option of availing CVT paddle shifters.
Based on current reports, the base model of Accord has a mileage of 24/34/27 in city, highway and combined drive respectively.
2016 Honda Accord: Release Date, Price, Competitors
Price of 2016 Honda Accord should start around $ 24 000 and increase up to a maximum of $ 35 000 for higher trim variants. It will face stiff competition from cars like Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion. We expect the car to be released during autumn of 2015 or by early 2016.
