Honda’s pride, the Ridgeline truck series was due for its second instalment in 2015. The 2016 Honda Ridgeline will sport a new styling direction along with some significant changes in its overall performance and functionality. The recent sketch reveal by Honda, vaguely showed the vehicle to have a refreshed rear end that is more in sync with its trucking roots and with a longer bed for carry extra load and serve as a better utility measure. If Honda is to stay set with its lifestyle theme, the new 2016 Honda Ridgeline should come exclusively as a four-door powerhouse ready to take on the hard roads.
2016 Honda Ridgeline: Redesign Exterior and Interior
The Japanese automaker decided to push away its release date from 2015 to 2016, and for all its worth, we think that it was a good idea. The 2016 Honda Ridgeline will feature a more elegant look in the exterior, as the edges have been rounded off and shaped very meticulously. Due to this style of design, it is also expected that it will have better aerodynamics. Its Roof has gotten slightly longer; cargo space has been extended, and it comes fitted with all the necessary tools to serve as a heavy duty material transport vehicle.
On the front part, the vehicle is expected to boast a stellar rectangle shaped grille with chrome trim. Fenders will be much larger than before and will have more strength. The lights will also be of the best quality as we expect it to shine with LED lights.
This spacious coming of age truck should be able to seat five passengers due to its spacious and comfortable seating arrangement. Like its exterior, inside of this vehicle has gone through a revamp and now comes with an improved infotainment system, top class navigation, a centre console for control of the tech features and better air-conditioning system. From what information we have gathered so far, the car will surely be a robust ride in all aspects.
2016 Honda Ridgeline: Engine and Fuel Economy
We are still waiting for information that would give leads as what to expect under the hood. So merely as a speculation, we can expect the upcoming 2016 Honda Ridgeline to be powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine that produces a horsepower of up to 250 and torque of 245 lb-ft. A hybrid variant may also become available in the future, but we’ll wait for the official word before making any such promises. The engine is likely to be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission system and be available for purchase in both front and all-wheel drive mechanics.
2016 Honda Ridgeline: Release Date and Price
Since the car is still under production, we expect the 2016 Honda Ridgeline to hit the market in the early period of 2016. Price has not been announced yet, but it is likely that this version will not cost much higher than its predecessor. Expect the base model to cost you around, or just over $ 38 000. We will get new info once the officials take the wraps off in the upcoming New York Auto Show.
