The 2017 VW Tiguan made its debut at the 2015 Motor show held in Frankfurt and its set to be headed for a very serious sale if the automaker company prices it appropriately. It is expected that the 2017 model of Tiguan has received some enhancement and changes from the previous models of the VW Tiguan. A lot of emphasis that has been put in place on this crossover includes advanced safety tech features and an enlarged interior space than before. The expected competitors of the 2017 VW Tiguan crossover include the Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V.
2017 VW Tiguan Design
According to the Volkswagen Company, the 2017 model of Tiguan has received a several improvements and changes both exterior and interior. The dimensions of this car have slightly been increased, the length measures 2.4 inches longer while the width is 1.2 inches wider. The wheel base has also been enlarged by 3 inches. This aims at improving the stability of the car while driving at high speeds. The cars’ height has been reduced by 1.3 inches. However the interior cabin remains enlarged due to increased dimensions.
Also featured is a new lower positioned grille that has been integrated with LED daytime lights. However the new grille is enlarged and assumes a trapezoidal shape design. The LED headlights having been redesigned assume to flow with the lines of the upper grille. On the centre of the grille is a well defined Volkswagen logo, and the car comes on a variety of colors. One of the fascinating exterior features on the 2017 VW Tiguan is the presence of more elaborated sharp lines that flows from the front to the back, these lines give the Tiguan a more bold and angular appearance.
From the interior view, the 2017 VW Tiguan has received vast improvements. The notable interior changes include more cabin space, a compact center stack, a redesigned shift knob and also a perfect placement of HVAC controls and air vents. It is expected that the 2017 Tiguan will be one of the most technologically advanced SUV in the whole world. These tech-wise features include a 12.3-inch Active Info Touch screen display, satellite navigation, GPS, WI-FI, USB ports, wireless Bluetooth and an improved infotainment system. For improved luxury and comfort, the SUV has been fitted with automatic climate control system that controls interior temperatures.
Engine Performance and Fuel Economy
Both Gasoline and Diesel engine options will be made available for the 2017 model of VW Tiguan. The primary 1.4-Liter engine is set to have 4-cylinders and capable of delivering up to 217 horsepower. The secondary 2.0-Liter diesel engine capable of delivering approximately 240 horsepower, the fuel economy of the both engines is set to be highly efficient than when compared with the powerhouse of the previous Tiguan models.
According to the auto experts, it is expected that the new model will be released to the auto market the mid year 2016. Although the exact pricing has not yet been release by the company, it is anticipated that it will sell at a price relatively above $25,000. The shift in production from Germany to Mexico is intended to reduce the cost.
