German Automobile giants Opel are planning big for their future edition of Insignia. Opel Insignia can be classified as a large family car. Since it is a vehicle from Opel, there has never been any compromise on aspects of comfort of performance, and this is also expected from their future editions. It has been in the market since 2008 and is currently in its first generation of production. 2013 edition saw drastic changes in design, and it’s expected that 2016 edition will also undergo a lot of modification. According to company reports, there would be significant changes in design of Opel Insignia 2016. There would also be an improvement in the performance section. Since it’s a family vehicle, Opel has always been very much focused on comfort. Opel Insignia 2016 promises a lot of exciting new features.
Opel Insignia 2016: Redesign Exterior
It is not yet confirmed but according to speculations Opel Insignia 2016 would be built on a completely new platform. It would either be Epsilon 2 platform or the D2XX. One may observe similarities between this model and Opel Monza, as it would be developed on the Monza concept.
Opel Insignia 2016 would have newly designed bumpers. It would retain its horizontal slot like grille structure, but LED headlights will have a change in design. On the front, there would be more powerful fog lights that would ensure better performance even in extremely difficult driving conditions. According to company reports, it would have much better aerodynamic stability. The wheel base would be larger along with a larger set of new alloy wheels. Overall exterior design of the vehicle can be described as simple and attractive.
2016 Opel Insignia: Interior
On the interior, Opel Insignia 2016 is quite spacious. It would comfortably seat five passengers. Even after full capacity it would have a lot of cabin space for luggage making this a perfect family vehicle. Interior of the vehicle would have a sophisticated feel with top quality leather seats. In higher trim levels, front seats come with internal heating and are power adjustable. The dash board looks quite stylish due to the addition of a new 8-inch LCD monitor that would provide all drivers’ essential information. It would also score pretty highly on safety department with several airbags, traction control, stability control and anti-lock brakes.
Opel Insignia 2016: Engine and Features
Even though the Insignia is defined as a family vehicle, it’s a well known fact that Opel never makes any compromise in terms of engine and performance. It would come with several engine options. Firstly there would be the 2.0 L CDTI Bi-Turbo engine that would be able to generate nearly 140 Hp of power. There are reports that suggest that there would be a LPG engine that would be mated to a nuclear reactor that would be able to generate 325 HP of power. Top speed would be 142 mph.
